Sevierville – Not Just for Shopping! They Have Wine Too!!
The Rocky Top Wine Trail spans all throughout the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Winery locations can be found in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and of course – Sevierville! Take a day out of your vacation to visit a few and find out what Tennessee wine has to offer. The Rocky Top Wine Trail is Tennessee’s most visited trail with over 70,000 people completing the trail annually. There are two excellent wineries in Sevierville to choose from.
- Apple Barn Winery: Located inside of the Apple Barn Village in Sevierville, this winery is all about the apples! Producing over 40,000 gallons a year, they specialize in apple base wines blended with delicious fruit wines including Appel Raspberry, Apple Strawberry, and Apple Peach. There seasonal dessert wine, Blackberry Port, is well worth a perfectly timed trip (it always sells out so call ahead!). And you can also enjoy apple fritters, apple butter, and fresh made ice cream during your stay.
- Hillside Winery: Located in the Governor’s Crossing complex (near Walmart) in Sevierville, these guys are all about the bubbled and delicious local fruit wines! Try the Black and Blue (blackberries and blueberries) or the Sonata – perfect for your daily mimosa. The gift shop at this winery is also one not to miss. Opened in 2008, Hillside harvests over 1 million pounds of Tennessee fruit annually and supports over 35 local farmers. Grapes include Muscadine, Concord, and Sangiovese and the largest fruit harvest comes from Tennessee Peaches.
Take a moment to savor these two wineries next time you are in Sevierville. And be sure to not miss the other great locations on the Rocky Top Wine Trail.
