How would you like to adventure and explore the taste of Tennessee’s native grape in FIVE different ways! That’s right, every March our master winemaker Doug Seitz, creates a unique batch of Muscadine wine at each of the 5 wineries along the Rocky Top Wine Trail. The wine is made by using the freshest batch of grapes and the winner will be decided by very experienced judges….. our loyal customers! Each wine that is presented into the competition is made from either a white or red Muscadine grape, also known as scuppernong in other regions.
How To Place Your Vote
Once you arrive in the Smokies visit any of the locations along the Rocky Top Wine Trail. There, you will receive your passport and Muscadine Madness Challenge bracket! You may start at any winery you would like. Listed below are the wines that have been submitted into the competition.
(The names may be familiar names, however, the actual wine is a completely new batch made from the most recent harvest, which would change the taste)
Mountain Valley Winery: Collier Reserve
Apple Barn Winery: Sweet Muscadine
Hillside Winery: Muscadine Spumante
Sugarland Cellars: Mountain Laurel
Mill Bridge Winery: Little Pigeon
Follow the trail behind the passport to visit the locations and sample each unique Muscadine wine. After you have tried all five wines, turn in your bracket with the winning wine for your chance to win a $20 gift certificate for the winery of your choice! Don’t forget to receive a stamp from each location as well. That way you will be able to collect your free wine glass at the third stop on the trail along and your final gift after visiting all 6 locations on the trail!
March 31st will be the last day to enter. The winning winery will be awarded the Muscadine Trophy and have the honor to call their Muscadine wine the best!
