Thanksgiving Wines you Already Know And Love!
This Thanksgiving go easy on yourself and serve wines that you’ve already tried and are guaranteed, love! Like the ones found along the Rocky Top Wine Trail.
If the turkey is the main course, like most traditional Thanksgiving dinners are, you’ll want to go with white wines. A light wine that offers plenty of fruity flavors and a zesty finish, for instants like the new release at Sugarland Cellars, Ogle Heritage!
Ogle Heritage is a delicious Chardonnay that offers aromas of honeysuckle and has extremely smooth flavors of toasted pear, green melon, and oak! A few other wines we have to offer here in the Smoky Mountains that can also be served during a Thanksgiving meal are:
Sonata: a bubbly chardonnay that is also blended with Vidal. I know what
you might be thinking, a bubbly wine?! Will it pair well? Of course, it will! Sonata pairs remarkably well with any Thanksgiving items, such as turkey or dressing. It can be served throughout the entire meal, as long as it is served chilled.
What about your non-wine drinkers, you ask?
We have you covered there as well! Did you forget, not only does Mill Bridge Winery serve delicious Tennessee wines but they also have an incredible line of local craft hard ciders. There’s always so many to choose from like the latest offering pear cider, or the recent rerelease of OCC (Orange, Cranberry, Cinnamon). But the perfect Thanksgiving hard cider is their original South cider, made from granny smith apples, blended with mulling spices, and then warmed in a crock-pot!! It’s like the perfect “holiday in a cup”.
Another delicious holiday drink is the Apple Pie moonshine found at Doc Collier Moonshine Distillery in Gatlinburg. Drink it straight or mix it with a little bit of cranberry juice. Apple Pie Moonshine is one option you’ll never regret offering up to those tough to please relatives J
Whether you’re enjoying a glass of wine or shine during your Thanksgiving meal enjoy yourselves and have a great time with family and friends. There is always something to be thankful for and here at the Rocky Top Wine Trail, we are extremely thankful for everyone who visits us and enjoys some peaceful time here in the Smokies!
